We live in a world that is slowly killing itself. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer; the beauty of the environment is quickly replaced with pavement and strip malls; we are at war destroying lives in hopes of peace. We have exchanged the hopes, dreams, and innocence of childhood for temporary pleasures and a couple of bucks. The end result is depression and anxiety, fear and hatred, hopelessness and despair.
But there is another way. There is hope in the darkness. There are new dreams for tomorrow. There is a generation coming that is taking up the banner of doing small things with great love, and re-imagining what it means to live. As we learn to give of ourselves, we find all of our needs met. As we learn to love all of our neighbors, we grow in peace. When we learn that “life is more than what we see”, we will remember that the greatest things in life are free.
